Australian Heritage Restorations was tasked with the full roof restoration of the Newcastle East Public School, a heritage building with significant historical value. The scope of work involved the removal of old asbestos tiles and replacement with authentic Welsh Slate tiles, custom lead work and replacement of copper gutters and downpipes. Carpentry works were also carried out, including the replacement of barges, repairing of dormer windows and eaves. Additionally, chimney repairs, sandstone repairs, new brickwork and re-pointing were conducted to ensure the complete restoration of the building's exterior. The project was completed to a high standard, resulting in a fully restored heritage roof that will stand the test of time.
